Stará Vajnorská

One of our main areas of activity is the Stará Vajnorská neighborhood, where we are actively involved through the “Together for Communities” project.

This area is quietly becoming an excluded community in Bratislava – full of hidden poverty that many people pass by. There are commercial hostels owned by foreign landlords, offering overpriced and inadequate housing for individuals and families. The rent for a small room often equals that of a standard apartment, yet the living conditions are far worse.

Many people here are trapped in a vicious cycle of poverty that lasts for years, with little chance of change.

We’ve decided to be there for them – both physically and personally. We create a space of trust where people in need can turn to our social workers, arrange for guidance, receive support, and, most importantly, not face their problems alone.

We are grateful that the community is slowly welcoming us, confirming that we are in the right place. Our greatest joy is seeing several families achieve stable housing with our support, for example through the City Rental Agency or municipal rental housing.
At Stará Vajnorská, we are not just a social service – we are also neighbors. We believe our work contributes to positive change in this area.
