On a chilly Saturday in October we went to Pezinok to the autumn meeting of volunteers. More than twenty of us gathered, including our colleagues and employees - social workers. Once again, the Capuchin brothers welcomed us in their monastery, for which we sincerely thank them.
The meeting was opened by our director of DOMA - brother Miroslav, who told us about the early starting days of the organization and its vision. We looked at old and new photos together and delved into a lively discussion. After that, the strengthening of the spirit - the celebration of a Holy Mass - and the body - a tasty lunch awaited us. During the afternoon coffee, we had a good laugh at the quiz about Doma u Kapucínov (At Home at the Capuchins), and some of us also took away nice prizes. Then we moved to the Little Carpathian Museum, where an interactive tour with an interesting commentary awaited us. We looked at the history of viticulture in Slovakia and the Little Carpathian region, various tools needed for growing vines and making wine, using special glasses we tested how a person feels when he is not sober, we tested our smell cells while testing different aromas and the golden nail of the program there was a tasting of the local wine.
After the tour, we returned back to the monastery, continued talking, eating the goodies brought, cleaned up and gradually went to our homes. We especially thank Majka and Miro, but also others for the organization and we are already looking forward to other similar events.
